I've got half installed. Here are some pics that show a comparison to an aftermarket "afterburner" that I previously installed, to show the difference within the same picture.
Note that on the right hand inboard tail I stupidly felt I had to trim the foam piece to get it to fit better, but I did it wrong and I ended up trimming off both ends, so it ended up too short... so it isn't perfect... |

Argh. :( No problem. We'll get you fixed up.
I would check that resistor's connections. Water can flow back there and corrode things. |

Too long is a gross understatement, I've been following this thread for TWO AND A HALF YEARS! It seems we're not much closer! It'll be time to sell this car before they are ready, and already the new models have changed their lights, rendering these useless for MY 2014+

I'm guessing you missed our first production run?

If by "first run" you mean the DIY kits where you cut open your OEM housing with a dremmel tool and glue in LED strips and diffusers, then try to seal it up and wait 24 hours, then try to piece together load resistors from a parts list at home depot, then yes. I missed the first round on purpose I'm still waiting, 2 and a half years later, for a finished product I could buy.

I just received a sample of aftermarket lamps to see if they are really an alternative to OEM. They seem to be the same on the outside. We'll remove the lens and see what the internals look like.
They may be a lower-cost option ($175 versus $375 for all four) for complete kits. GM list is $106 each. |

Mine are still running pretty strong. I've been having issues with my outer driver's side brake light section. I already had one replaced by Tony with no questions asked, this one has been acting up a bit too now. The orange glow still looks perfect and thats what I care about the most.
I love knowing that there are less than 15 cars on the road with this set up and it is indeed THE best tail light set up for these Camaros hands down! |

My tongue-in-cheek comments are meant to be taken in jest. I know these things can take time. But 2 and a half years IS time. And the "we are ALMOST THERE guys!!" posts by sjm in this thread are in the dozens, so I find a little humor in that. I appreciate your work sjmauto. I just hope these get finished and for sale while some of us still have our models that can use them!

That angle is understandable. It seems that the people who are "still waiting" are those that want something that they can just install without doing the actual modding of the lights. We figured that most everyone would have (or find) a mod-buddy to help.
Obviously, if you don't mod them yourself, you will be paying someone to do it. You will also have to pay for the lamps, which are either $175 (aftermarket), or, $375 (OEM) for the four. |
