Bogging with launch control

I put some invos on my car today(315/35/20). I launched it in PTM 5 and let off the clutch smoothly just like I have done successfully before, but the car spun really bad then bogged very hard. I did this twice, then dropped it down to PTM 3 and launched it again. This time it didn't bog, but still spun extremely bad. I switched from the NT05Rs to these...could my car just be adjusting? It launched better than this with the goodyears.

I think the bogg your feeling is your traction/stabilitrack kicking in from lack of traction.

PERF TRACTION 1 – WET /
ACTIVE HANDLING ON
. Intended for all driver skill levels.
. Wet or damp conditions
only — not intended for use in
heavy rain or standing water.
. StabiliTrak is on and engine
power is reduced based on
conditions.

PERF TRACTION 2 – DRY /
ACTIVE HANDLING ON
. For use by less experienced
drivers or while learning a new
track.
. Dry conditions only.
. StabiliTrak is on and engine
power is slightly reduced based
on conditions.

PERF TRACTION 3 –
SPORT 1 / ACTIVE
HANDLING ON
. For use by drivers who are
familiar with the track.
. Requires more driving skill than
mode 2.
. Dry conditions only.
. StabiliTrak is on and more
engine power is available than in
mode 2.

PERF TRACTION 4 –
SPORT 2 / ACTIVE
HANDLING OFF
. For use by drivers who are
familiar with the track.
. Requires more driving skill than
modes 2 or 3.
. Dry conditions only.
. StabiliTrak is off and available
engine power is available is the
same as mode 3.

PERF TRACTION 5 – RACE /
ACTIVE HANDLING OFF
. For use by drivers who are
familiar with the track.
. Requires more driving skill than
in other modes.
. Dry conditions only.
. StabiliTrak is off and available
engine power is available for
maximum cornering speed. for
Use mode 5 for most consistent
performance during drag strip use.
When the TCS/StabiliTrak button is
pressed again, the vehicle exits
PTM mode and the TCS and
StabiliTrak systems are on.
Use Mode 5 for the most consistent
performance during drag strip use.

Sounds like you went backwards on the tire selection.

When I switched I was looking for a better all around tire. I didn't expect it to hook up, but also didn't think it would blow the tires off.

A better all around tire would be a Michelin PSS, Hankook R-S3, or Toyo R888. I listed them in order of how sticky they are. Michelin's will ride the quietest and smoothest. Hankook R-S3 is an aggressive street tire that can be used for road course work. Toyo R888 is basically a track tire that is street legal.

Another option is the new BFG G-force Rival. Haven't seen anybody here run them yet, but they look promising. About the same as Hankook R-S3's I would say.
