Air/Fuel Gauge Reading while engine braking

Is it normal for my Air/Fuel Gauge to read 20.0 when i'm engine braking / decelerating? Sorry if this is a dumb questions first time having a turbo car with an Air/Fuel gauge

DFCO...

Deceleration Fuel Cut-Off... It's still active in your tune. This will purposely put the car lean when it is decelerating to save fuel. It is fine to keep active, a lot of guys want me to remove it because it induces the popping in the exhaust.

Sometimes mine goes to no value, meaning the throttle blade closes when you completely let off the throttle and coasts . Normal to me and sounds good.

I wondered the same thing at first for a couple days, but then I was told by my tuner he can disable the DFCO, but with no exhaust it sounds like a gunshot on mine lol.

Haha that is true... It depends on the owner and the exhaust, most of the time I have requests to remove the DFCO.

thebeast: You are seeing --- , that can either mean too lean off the scale (Above 18:1) or too rich off the scale (Lower than 10:1). Most likely you are "off the chart lean" when you see the --- especially on decel!

GM's intention was to have DFCO active, so it's not a bad thing. It is just removing fuel upon deceleration (Saving fuel). Like I said most people have me remove it from their tune because it creates that "popping" noise in the exhaust.

It's there to reduce fuel consumption, but more importantly it's for emissions purposes.

Some cars run fine with it active, some less so and will run better with it turned off. So if you are driving and notice no negative effects, just leave as is.
