dude, seriously, id have walked in that dealership, asked for the sales manager, and dealer to stand to me and tell me why they think breaking a promise to me was business like... then when they explained ive had decked them and demand to speak with the owner...

the nerve of some people ffs...

the dealers that are on this forum are really good people hope they can help you out

I have a question about order status. If you have an order number given to you by the dealer and Viz shows that you are at 1100 does this mean that everything is now in GM's hands as to when the car is produced? Does dealer allocation have anything to do with it once you are at 1100?

Yes, you are waiting for the dealer to get allocation to actually get it built.

In the official GM statement about the SS Model Constraint (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39543), GM is telling the dealers to prioritize SS orders ahead of other orders. I'm sure this is for a variety of reasons including balancing out dealer orders, model type production, etc. But, it's still confusing and unfair to the customer.

I should be able to place an order for a vehicle, get a number, and wait my turn for delivery, of course accounting for any production delays, labor strikes, bankruptcies, etc. If models or engine types are to be rationed, then sell them separately, each with its own allocation system. This may be an oversimplification of a complex system, but it is in line with the "customer's first" policy GM claims to be striving towards.

The current system is dealers first. Add on the uninformed or unethical dealer factor (definitely not labeling all dealers...I like mine so far), and the system fails.

In my case, we'll see. I was sold on the fact that my 2SS order would take "10-12 week" and that the dealer had allocations. So far, the dealer has been great. I'll wait the 10-12 weeks, plus a few extra factoring in slowed production. If the car doesn't arrive, I'll cancel the order and walk away. It's a beautiful car that I won't have ruined by an ugly purchase experience.

"• If dealer has SOLD orders for Camaro SS (V8) models “on hand” (Event 1100), these orders should be assigned the highest priority. This can be accomplished by changing the priority number of the highest desired order to “1″, and start sequentially assigning priority numbers from that point.
• If dealer has only STOCK Camaro orders “on hand”, dealer should still prioritize their Camaro SS models ahead of Camaro LS, LT models orders. This can be accomplished by following the above directions."

Yea I hear you on that. I havn't had that but when I did go to the dealer last week he told me I was number 34 from 38 and they got 8 on on the way. He don't know why they took 8 random which was 4 in front and in back of me. I am not trying to cover the dealer backside but it isn't always them. But your guy is a tool. lol Hope all is well with you!

I must say my hat’s off to Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet in Michigan. I had several dealerships contact me for a car I was looking for 2LT/RS, IBM\Blk leather, A6, sunroof, and 20” polished wheels. She had one that is being built on 10/5 we worked out the details and as soon as it’s at the dealership I will be heading up to Michigan to pick her up.
