They have a few cams actually, they took advantage of the different valve angle of the heads and used this cam that they use on the Ls7's.

TSP VVT-1 Cam
Well I guess everybody had been guessing on this VVT-1 cam. I had this cam installed last week. And I can tell you that I was surprised regarding the results. My car is a 2011 SS L99 Convertible. Before the cam, I already had the OBX headers 1 7/8, VaraRam Intake, Jeremy Formato Tune. The results there were 367 rwhp 380 rwtq. I added the VVT-1 cam and the ATI UD pulley. The results were astounding.......437.82 rwhp 412 rwtq. There was crazy torque at the low end. Car idles smooth set at 700....actually it could have been set at stock idle. Lots of power at the bottom end. So if you really want to save some money it would be wise to get this cam unless you want to spend the extra money with the VVT-2 and aftermarket converter.

With bolt ons of ADM street intake, Stainless Power long tubes and Solo Mach XL catback with a tune, I was around 350 rwhp. Today, I am at 445 rwhp and 419 ft-lbs with the install of a cam, ported and milled heads, underdrive pulley, DOD delete and a tune. Dyno was a Mustang and taken on a very hot, dry, humid Texas day. Car runs great and I'm using a stock converter.

Exactly, i TOTALLY agree with Rhino!! dyno #'s are only used to tune!! A high dyno number won't always mean your car is fast! If your out to beat another persons dyno number then your playing the wrong game. Not to mention you have different dynos that will show different results!
It's ALL ABOUT TRACK RESULTS!! |
