2014 ZL1 Winter Tire Selection

Hey folks,

I've seen "fbodfather" on here recommending a couple winter tires on 2012 ZL1 threads but anyone see anything wrong with my choices here, it's all from tire rack.

-x4 315MHz Tire Pressure Sensor

-x4 20x10 Advanti Racing 15 Anniversary Black Painted

-x4 285/35RF20 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25

Should I mix and match front/rear tires? I see tirerack says to get a set of 4 so that's what I chose. I know there's also the Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II, Pirelli Winter Sottozero Serie II and Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3.

Just want to get some opinions before I go ahead and purchase! Thanks! Also planning on keeping these on through april just in-case it gets cold out.

If you go with the Sottozeros you can get them in the correct tire sizes. Plus, they stick like glue in the cold . No more driving on hockey pucks.

I bought the sottozeros at the beginning of last winter. Was happy with their cold weather performance though I never drove them in snow.

For the NJ winters, I went with the Conti DWS all-seasons.
Good for the cold weather and occasional snowy road.
Unless you live somewhere particularly snowy.

Blizzak dm-v1 245/50/20 on 20x8 rims all around, more ground clearance and good winter traction , I would strongly advise this route if you live somewhere there is snow

Awesome guys thanks for the suggestions. I'm stationed at McGuire AFB. So I don't go off base often, just picking the car up down in FL and will be driving it up.

Love the air shows down there.

In your case, I would definitely go with the DWS all-season option.
If it happens to snow a lot, just borrow an MRAP.

My take on WINTER

Got a whopping 29 miles on the clock of my new '13 ZL1 Tire Rack has P:irelli Sottozero Series II 285/35r20 for the fronts and Pirelli Sottozero 240 (series I) 305/35r20 rears. Pulling off the factory set-up and storing 'em in a 70 degree utility room. Mounting the new rubber on Factory Reproduction black satin/red stripe wheels. Good to go for those days in Chicago and the trip down south Floridaway after the NEW YEAR

I am also using the DWS on a spare set of wheels for cold weather and light snow driving.

For serious winter driving I would rather go with the Sottzeros 2 or 3 in 285 all around.
