Noob question as I am the proud owner of a 2011 1LT RS for all of 36 hours or so now... I quickly scanned the manual and all but how the hell do you turn on the foglights?! They are certainly there and have bulbs in them but so far how to turn them on is eluding me.

Sorry to say, with an RS, you can't control them directly. They function as your DRL's and are only on during daylight hours. There are mods you can do to add control. Search in this forum for more info.

If its an RS you can't. Your fog lights are your daytime running lights. If you want them to work with your headlights you need to buy a special adapter for a vendor on this site.

those are not foglights, they are your daytime running lights. thats part of the RS package

Yup, what these guys said. Do some searching on here, there are a bunch of threads for the conversion if you're interested. Just look for key titles like "drl's on with headlights".

OK, I gonna take everyone's word that the fogs on RS's function as DRL's but I can't get them to come on under any conditions. I know it has to be in the daytime and relatively sunny but does the car have to be in Drive not just Park?

Damn, I have a problem then because on a 2011 1LT RS I've had for a whole three days now my DRL's (foglights) don't come on under any conditions.

Again, you do not have foglights.......you have an RS so you have drl's. They are 2 different items.

I would be happy if my drl's didn't come on, I always shut mine off when driving.
If you really want them working, bring it back to the dealer, it's under warranty.

The way they should work:
When you start the car, the drl's come on automatically. If you don't want them on, turn your headlight knob to the left, this will shut them off.
When your halo's are on alone, or headlights are on, the drl's do not come on.

See the lights in this picture from CDNSS's reply from earlier? I know that technically on the RS package these are referred to as the DRL's (not fogs) but those are the ones I'm talking about: mine NEVER come on, daytime or no.

So, nothing at all comes on when you start the car? No side markers, no halos, no brake lights..nothing?

I'm at work but I just went outside and started the car to take a look again. It's bright sunshine so it almost makes it hard to tell but it looks like the front parking lights (amber rectangle's next to the headlights) and the brake lights are on but NOT the DRL's (fogs) down below.
