Request: IBM with black stripes - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Does anyone have pics of a IBM with black stripes? My son wants stripes for his car for Christmas and I suggested going with black becasue I think matte black will look great on it but I would like for him to see it first. He wants some black wheels for his bday/graduation this spring and I think they will look good together.

Also any suggestions on best place to order stripes from? I can get GM ones for $320 but are the ones online just as good? Anyone know an installer in Dallas/Fort worth area?

Not enough contrast between black and IBM in my opinion.....cyber gray metallic might be nice though.

I saw Cyber grey...it disappears into the car also. Not a fan

i personally like silver stripes best on IBM

Also another fan of the silver. Cyber gray and black blend in a lot. The silver pops quite nicely. The first two Camaros I drove were IBM with silver stripe package. If I ever finally decide, I am going silver stripes on my IBM.

Do you think they show enough? Are you happy with choice? I suggested cyber gray to him but he wants black with black wheels. I think the matte black would show as much as cyber gray. I would think the contrast from the matte and shiny metallic would help them show.

do you have a pic that shows the hood more? I like silver as well but we are in Dallas area and the blue and silver looks too much like you are trying to make it a Cowboys car. And he is, well we are, Redkins fans.

thanks, I work in downtown FW and will call them right now.

Update. Just spoke with them. Think that is the way to go. I am going to go by and pay for it and he is giving me a gift certificate and a sample piece of vinyl to give him for Christmas and set the apointment for the week after Christmas to have them put on. And for a great price btw. Also this way he can make sure of what color he wants. Thanks for the recommendation.

I love the subtle contrast. I am just the opposite of the other posters, I don't like too heavy of a contrast and since I have went with a black and blue color scheme, they look great. Personal choice as usual. I have also received many compliments. One thing, they are a bitch to take care of...often show streaking left over from cleaning products after exposure to the sun or wash. Have to clean them regularly.
