Stock LS3 boost limit? best pulley for Magnuson?
Hey guys
I've finally bought a supercharger for my 2010 Camaro M6 :headband: Long tube header + 2.5" cat-back + ZL1 feul pump + wideband installed I bought the Magnuson kit which comes with 3.8 pulley (6 psi) This supercharger will make about 125 HP with this pulley compared to 150+ HP with the SLP supercharger! My question is (How far should I go with the boost to gain 150-160 HP? What's the best choice for the pulley?) waiting for your replies Thanks all Last edited by T-r3x; 12-03-2013 at 09:38 PM. You need to list all your current MODs first off.

~800-820rwhp on a blower and ~850-900rwhp on turbos has been done and stayed together. All in the tune/octane.

A lot of people are running the 3.6 pulley on the stock bottom end.

Boost pressure is nothing compared to combustion pressure. The more efficient the engine is the less boost it will take to make horsepower. I lost a headgasket and the motor internals due to hydolock at speed at 805 hp on a stock LSA block, I was on a road racing course and pushing the car. I think about 780 is safe more than that is dangerous. My opinion but based on over 10 grand worth of experience.

On the stock fuel system, I wouldn't go above 7 PSI.
That seems to be the point where guys start running out of fuel. once you add a high flow pump like ZL1/1LE pump. you can go a little north of that. But most Daily drivers stay below the 600 at the tires on the stock bottom end. Good luck!

with your current setup and a 3.6 pulley, you should be at about 540-550 rwhp on a 93 octane tune

Nice! then I wouldn't chase a rwhp number... I'd let the tune tell you what you need to get more power...
any tuner can make a 1000 to the wheels on the stock bottom end... once.... I'd get the car dialed in on a safe tune with what you have... then work with your tuner to figure out what you need to add to safely get to the number you want.... let the tune lead the way.....

Power is just a number determined by a machine. Every machine differs, as does every blower setup. I'm going for more power now, but it has no bearing on how fast I can get the car up to. A car making less power on a Maggie can out perform my car with a centri depending on the run. So, really the question is, what goals are you trying to accomplish?
