After 10+ years of riding sportbikes I want to get my first cruiser
preferably a Harley softail fatboy lo, or maybe a metric cruiser like a roadstar warrior.
Anyone else here went from sportbikes to cruisers? |

I did. It was horrible. I ended up selling the cruiser and getting a sport touring bike. Much better. Had a Kawasaki Concours 14 which was decent although heavy steering and then went with a BMW K1600 which I put about 17000 miles on last year. I sold it this year. At the end of the day I still miss my sport bikes and if I ever get back into bikes I'm going back to sport bikes or dual sport.

I couldnt do it. My bro in law went with the HD Rocker and wants to ride my 14 all the time.....not lol. I like the Rocker but even at the old age of 44 I am not ready to give my rocket up yet.

Get a ZX14. I have a 2008 have done 500mi days on it. The Dragon , Cherohola Skyway, Blueridge Pkwy, Skyline dr. It's the best compromise between a full sport bike , and a sport tourer. Massive torque. With a few mods mine is putting 195 to the rear tires. Awesome bike!

I was thinking about getting a cruiser this year, a HD Street Bob specifically, but the ZX-14 called my name and I got a great deal on it! It is a great sportbike and sport touring bike!

Ok this is going to sound like a bit of a stretch but my first bike was an 85 honda interceptor 500cc. It sat in a friends parents shed for over 10 years. I got it around 2006-2007ish. Anyways, the bike ran hot, had a huge dent in the tank, so I wound up dumping it. I then on a whim went and bought an 07 honda shadow 750. It's a great bike, I like it better than the interceptor and especially better sitting up than leaning forward like a hunchback. Although, if I ever sell this bike and get a new one, I will never buy anything that is chain driven or carbureted ever again. Shaft or belt driven and fuel injected. Much less maintenance.
