Has anyone put in a Navigation system in their camaro?

I had a Kenwood with a NAV/Bluetooth/DVD/Backup Camera installed with a Metra Dash kit. It will be one of the best things you can do for your Camaro!

However, I didn't install it since I was having so many things done at once. I didn't have a lot of free time.

I tried the iPhone GPS thing, but I found that I get unreliable GPS results in areas with poor cell phone reception . Example, the gps "freezes" and when it "catches up" it jumps a 1/2 mile down the road.

You hit on the one glaring deficiency: no real navigation (and back-up camera). Who wants to have to dial in to on-star and start a conversation with someone, spell street names, etc? Just leave it to me and the buttons, thank you GM...

Garmin just released their new version of Street Pilot for iPhone. This one stores map data on the phone so it can be used without a data connection. It works pretty well, and its only $39.99 for the USA version. I just bought a vent clip and have it connected through bluetooth so I can hear the directions over the car speakers. I will do this until the Alpine/Scosche kit becomes available. Just haven't been a big fan of the Metra personally.

There is actually an app for your phone (OnStar RemoteLink) that allows you to look up a destination and send the results straight to your car..no talking to anyone.
