Quick Order???

I just got another call from my dealer stating that the "real" ordering will happen on Nov 3rd. They state that the quick order is not important and does not list all of the available options and to wait til the traditional ordering happens on Nov 3rd. They apparently spoke to the regional manager of Chevy, who confirms.
Any truths?
If so, what is the point of quick order then?

Please help...

He should be able to go to the Dealer "Quick Order Guide" and order your car. Hundreds of ZL1's were ordered on Saturday, if he took the time to look on the Quick Order Guide he could order the car for you too.

I'm getting the feel from what I have learned that these orders stay in the system and don't get finalized until after traditional opens. Customer orders will get delivered before the stock orders, but customer orders aren't being accepted as an order type at this point and given a number, only the stock orders. If anyone knows better please advise, this is just my perception and take on the current situation. I haven't been through this before. I like many am having difficulty with the conflicting information and order completion. It shouldn't be this difficult or confusing, but it is what it is and I'm optomistic things will work out for everyone in due time. I just like to understand everything I am involved with.

All I have to chew on is my dealer is "Waiting either a number or processes"
from GM. wth????
Some of this is flat ridiculous, from all the run arounds to the DMA's
we are seeing.....
chin up...
I sat next to my rep at the computer doing the quick order, wouldn't go through, tried it three times, was kicking it out due to "incorrect order type". Order type checked off was for customer; other choices were fleet, stock and another I can't remember. So, I am wondering if I am getting the run-a-round, or....I dunno, making inquiries to others with a "number" if their dealer checked off "stock" instead of "customer" under order type to make it go through, or theirs were checked off customer.

Maybe I can clear up a little confusion. Right now the dealers can create orders through Quick Order. It will give you an order #. That number is good all through the process. On November 3rd the other system we can use, Order Configurator will be available. The end result is the same. Both systems can be used to create orders. There's no reason the Quick Order doesn't allow a sold order to be created, unless perhaps they didn't submit the customer name and address with it.

What you need to understand is that the dealer can create as many stock or sold orders as they want. The real factor is the allocation because any order created goes nowhere until it's placed against the allocation. So a dealer can have 50 ZL1 orders, and an allocation of 3. Only 3 cars are going to get built. This is the same process that the 2010 Coupe and 2011 Convertibles went through. Until the initial demand was eased up and then the sold orders could be submitted and processed with allocation.

There's going to be all sorts of stories about markups and dealers that lied to customer, same stories we've heard before. If anyone has questions, just ask them, someone here has been through it or knows the answer to it.

Order type should be Sold but any dealer should know how to do that.

:( My dealer said they couldnt place an order before Nov 3rd although I told him hundreds have on Sat and have an order number. So today I had an appt set up at lunch, went it and they spent a lot of time on the order system. The only option I want is the B92 exposed cf hood. I already told him that was not available yet in the system per all the other post here.

He came back with a copy from GM GlobalConnect. I asked about the order number and he said they cant get an order number until they get a consensus (?) from GM tomorrow. Again I asked how everyone else was getting an order number, he didnt know.

Now I know that having an order number doesnt mean an actual order, but it would sure make me feel better to be in the 'system' and at 1100

I am not sure that your dealer is entering your car correctly!

BECKY..... on the workbench there is a line entry called "PRIORITY"

What does it mean if it says "1"
What does it mean if it says "2"
This is a slot I think the dealer puts in.
