Who would be interested in a set of axles stronger than the stock Diff for less

As you know we here at DSS are always looking to better the drivetrain products we sell, recently we came the conclusion that making a set of 1400Hp axles for the stock diff that has issues after the 600 to 700Hp range might be a little over kill. What were considering doing is making a set of direct bolt in axles for the cars but with a few changes to not only make it less expensive but better suited for a daily driver that See's track time on the weekends.

Starting with the outer CV we will be going back to a 108mm bolt on style but have re-engineered it to clear the bolts and boot on the upper control arm. The CV's will have a 4130 Chromoly cage and special made harder inner Races to ensure great life of the joint. We will be using our high grade grease to top the build. We also have our powder-coating system up and running so the entire set will coated and look like new for years to come.

Now where this will be different and help the fast street car is in the fact that if were limited by the Hp of the diff we can bring back the Anti-
wheel hop design but we will be using the 300 material bars we have been using on the 1400hp axle.this is the same material we have been getting from the mill in Sweden (not to be mistaken with 4340), But this would be a 28 spline version capable of an easy 1000Hp.

Now material and other cost have gone up this year and as much as we would hate to increase prices the cost of the 1400hp axles will be going up 100.00 after the 1st of the year but the good news is that this new 1000HP axle set will be coming out at a list price between 1149.99 and 1199.99 depending demand. I'm putting this pole up to see if the community is interested in having us make a set of axles that is not only less expensive but also better suited for the cars with Stock Differentials.

This is the "test" set we made and mocked up on our cradle on the testing bench.

Frank,

It was great talking with you guys at PRI.

I'm really interested in these. I vote yes.

Is this what you were talking about for that Stage 1 Hammerhead setup?

This would be perfect, as I don't have plans any time soon on going beyond 700rwhp.

How much rwhp/rwtq are the stock axles rated at anyhow?? I heard people were breaking them with stock power. I'll be hovering around 650rwhp likely for a while and even these 1000rwhp axles will be PLENTY for me.

600 is kinda the magic number for about everything on these cars. If you're at 650ish. You're flirting with it. It really depends on your driving style. If the car is raced (on a track of course) or not I think will be the deciding factor.

Thanks, thats the feeling I have been getting just by reading these forums. The "600" mark is playing with fire. Right now, I'm pushing in the low 500's, but will be getting the car re-tuned likely with high flow cats and slight boost increase to be around the 600-650rwhp range. So, these axels would be ideal instead of going for the balls to the wall 1400rwhp axels. This car will rarely be races though, and it's just a fun weekend warrior car. Occasionally (maybe 1-2x per year), it may see the quarter mile track.

Yes sir. These would be perfect for that. That is one the main reasons the guys at DSS made these. Not everyone needs or will ever see the 1400hp mark or close to it. So Frank once again stepped up to the plate and meet the demads of his consumers. A great axle to withstand some serious power at a fraction of the cost.

I agree, if these axles say roughly around a grand, I'll be interested for sure. Thanks Frank and DSS for all your hard work. I didn't want to get aftermarket axels because they were a lot of money (even though worth it for individuals pushing unbelievable amounts of power) for a product that would be overkill for my application. If the price is right, you'll have plenty of customers buying these axels.

I'd agree not may people need/want 1400hp axles. I see the sales for those drastically declining and a buttload of sales for a more affordable 1000hp axle. Just my .02
