Ultra coat

Did any of you buy the ultra coat protection at the dealer? I was going to skip on it but I ended purchasing it as my car is carbon flash and the dealer stated that their protection would cover every little scratch on my car for 5 years. I bought the car in feb of this year. I just took it back to dealer as my car had swirls. They are polishing it next week. And if by any chance I'm not satisfied, they have to replace my car with a new one.

Yikes, see if they will just give you a refund and invest in a porter cable, the crap from the dealers is a joke

Unfortunately, you got ripped off. What did it cost? Get a refund if you can. Also, there is NO WAY I would let the dealer polish your car.

I used to work in a detailing shop at a local Chevy dealership during college. It's nothing special. You definitely got taken to the cleaners. You should of invested in a good bottle of compound, a wheel, applicator and some good wax and you would of been way better off. IMO

$250.00 is not a bad price for what you get with the Dealership product.

it's not designed to protect against swirls and scratches - It's designed to protect against environmental damage from things such as tree sap, bird droppings, acid rain, etc.

Internal cost for the product we sell here for the paint and leather protection (Can't say fabric as no infiniti has a cloth interior) is $335.00 and most of that is for the 5 year warranty.

It's not a bad thing to have, as long as you pay a reasonable price for it and know what you are getting. $250.00 is indeed reasonable.

Please do NOT expect this product to protect you from swirls or scratches - it will not do that.

David Puddy says "We don't even know what that is". No wait, that was the under coating, not ultra coating.

Seriously, you are paying for the labor. You can buy the product and apply it yourself and pocket the difference.

Dealer markup is huge on that--they tried to sell it to me, but I googled the product, and when I saw how much the markup was I passed. I did buy the tire and rim protection plan, which is also a huge markup, but negotiated the price down, and see some real benefit in that plan.
