is it ok to jack one side up put a jack stand under it and then go to the other side and jack that side up and put the other jack stand?

Yes, with the heavy use magnetic jack pads you can no problem.

You use it as an "extension" of the pinch weld jack points so you can use a regular floor jack to jack up the car WITHOUT much fear of crunching your side rocker ground effects. Makes things much faster when you need to jack the car up. Kind of like an adapter to use a floor jack.

Unless you just LIKE digging the factory jack out of the car and using that thing.

if you look on a ZL1 the lower rockers are below the jack points of the pinch weld. So if you do not have a stock jack you will need something to go up into the opening so as to not crush the rocker panel.
