He did ask to see some pictures. I pointed him towards the DIY thread. Hopefully he has time to check it out. I need to shoot him an email with the link.

He said that they have sold plenty of midpipes for 2012's, and he wasn't aware of any problems. That's a good sign. I'm hoping I just got the wrong gaskets somehow.

Now my passenger side is definetly blown. Those 2499 gaskets are pure junk. Something worth mentioning is that Jeff said to make sure you wire brush the surfaces after you blow a crappy fiber gasket. They tend to leave material on the flange surfaces.

That's probably similar to what i'm using atm. 2499 is a sheet of material that has perferated sheet metal sandwiched between 2 layers of fiber. The fiber keeps blowing out of them.

The new gaskets that i got from solo this week are the same as the ones i had. They did send me new hardware though, which i needed after over-tightening countless sets of bolts and snapping off the resulting cross-threaded nuts.

The final analysis here is that none of this stuff lines up as well as you think. Basically, it looks really effed up when you check it, but it actually installs ok with the proper technique. That technique being:

1) line everything up carefully before tightening anything.... Duh.
2) don't over-torque the bolts. 18-20 ft/lbs is the right number.
