Seriously guys, something that tells you "Hey, you're about to hit this post behind you" or "hey, you've still got 10 inches before you hit your garage wall, come on back a little farther!" (for those of us with small garages who like to back in) isn't that bad.

Besides, of all the things that sent panic into the streets with this car, have ANY of them really been as bad as everyone thought they would be?

"Oh, you're not a real man if you need back-up sensors!" Whatever. No one NEEDS them. I've backed into tight spots plenty of times using the wall as my spotter and stopping when I bumped it. I've almost hit dark telephone poles at night because I was tired and just glanced behind me. I've never taken out anyone's mailbox, but for $300 bucks I think I can handle having this feature. Besides, it's 1/100th of what your car costs. In the grand scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal.
Well said, in a very non-dramatic way.

Thank you for your perspective!!

This, too, shall pass.

Well put. If there was ever a vehicle that needs backup sensors, the Camaro is a prime candidate. People have bitched about the "blind spots" but with proper mirror adjustment, they disappear. Backing up, however is a practice of go slow and pray.

I'm just curious as to the future availability of rear fascias sans backup sensors. Let's say I get in a rear end, will the "old" parts still be available?

Re: comments about lights... why couldn't this be integrated into the DIC? Answer: it could, it would just take a lil extra software development...

Sure. All LS cars will have rear bumpers without them so don't worry about not being able to find them.

Just imagine how you will feel when you back up into something and don't have these sensors.

fbodfather,
Would you say that drawing on the previous page is accurate as far as the placement?

Thanks.

I think it'll be alright...

Gm did a pretty good job at designing this car, finally got somthing right... I would hope they would be smart enough to put the back up sensors in the Black part of the rear fascia. Then you wouldn't be able to see them nearly as much.. Mine car is on order and they called me the other day to let me know my price was going to go up by $295 because of them whatever 295 bucks outta 35K.. i can live with it. Actually I'm neither her nor there about them... as long as they are body colored i'm not complaining.
