Like Nike says.. JUST DO IT! You will not regret it. The car is simply amazing and the more you drive it, the more you start to realize just how great it is.

Having said that, here are my few words of caution (even if going for a test drive)...

1. The Trofeo tires are slick as snot when cold
2. The tires are very wide and will follow every groove, undulation, etc (at least Trofeos will... have heard other tires not as much).
3. You must be in control of the car. It has a mind of it's own, but it will reward you nicely if you are in control. If not, it will bite you..and possibly quite hard.
4. When driving you really should have both hands on the wheel (even the Stig will tell you so...). This is especially true when driving aggressively or over rough terrain. Case in point... today I was driving on 2 lane road (60 MPH speed limit) with a very uneven surface. I hit a spot that pulled the car hard to the left (toward center of the road toward oncoming traffic). If I had been driving like Joe Cool with my left wrist plopped over the steering wheel and right elbow on the center console the car may have jumped over the center line. When driving, it's not just your safety at stake.

Not trying to scare anyone away... just telling it like it is. I had a Boss 302 Laguna Seca and a ZL1 (both a lot more hard core than your average car) and the Z/28 is 3-4 notches above them from a "hard core" perspective. This is why I believe there a lot of them for sale with very low mileage. People just didn't know what they were buying. So, if you are considering a purchase, you will not regret it (assuming you are sure you can handle it's hard core nature), but I'd recommend that you go slow and easy in the beginning, and really get to know the car and it's unique characteristics.

That's a great point. This car isn't for the masses and they'll never make one like this again in our lifetime. I still can't believe I actually own one.

I have to go somewhere on monday 600 miles away and I was gonna fly then I got to thinkin.....hmmmm...as long as it does not snow what's another 1200 miles of the best fun EVER!!!...this car makes you maybe not make the best decisions for certainly the best reasons.

I swapped out the Trofeos for RE-11's and the two hands on the wheel is waaaaay better on the street. My drive home with the car was both hands on the wheel for sure.

Exactly... the car re-wires your brain's dopamine receptors and it constantly craves more Z/28 seat time!! Enjoy your trip!

Yesterday I drove to Dallas from Okc and headed back to OKC this morning. It never gets old driving this car. Stopped at QT yesterday for fuel and 3 different people came over and asked questions and wanted to see it all. Then the pictures and looks from people in passing vehicles..

It will get away from you quick, yesterday I was doing 50 mph on dry road, it was near 55* down shifted to 3rd and gave it the gas, almost got sideways. I was thinking of putting some 20" wheels from my 2SS on it with all season tires for regular driving

I don't know that I have any advice for potential buyers or new owners. For potential buyers, I'd say, don't even think twice. Do it, you'll be glad you did. For owners, I'd say congratulations. These are the cars (or types of cars) that people in 20 years will say, "you actually owned one of those?". "Holy shit, if you only had it now!". I've said it before and I'll say it again, these are the '67 GT500's, Hemi Cuda's and 427 Corvette's of yesteryear. There are several reasons why those cars are worth what they are today, and these cars have it all covered.
