Vitesse

I know this continues a long list of threads. However once you are done cussing your way through the install and the back pain of having to get yourself in the footwell has gone away, you will realize that this is the best $180 you have ever spent. I can't believe the difference this made.

Love what this little device does! And for the price, nothing beats it.

I just uninstalled mine today to put in my new car, and it was somehow even worse getting it back out! I hate the install/uninstall, lol!

I guess I was lucky. I read all the how to install posts to make sure I knew what I was doing. Sat on the drivers side floorboard, and slowly lowered myself into place with a flashlight and flat blade screwdriver. I was done in a couple minutes. Programming also went without a hitch. I'm so used to it being on SP7 that when I picked it up from service, I forgot I set it back to SP0. Drove a few blocks thinking "What the hell's wrong with my car?" I then thought "Oh, yeah!" Put it back on SP7, and the smile came right back.

It's hard to believe there are still people who doubt that the VTC works. I don't think I've seen one post saying someone bought it and didn't like it.

I've also just installed this on my car and a buddy's v6 and both of us couldn't be happier. I guess that if one reads the instructions clearly and looks online for pictures of the installation, it shouldn't take more than 3 minutes. It is, by far, the easiest mod I have ever installed on my car. Thank you Ahmad!

I believe the people that don't like it generally equate the extra component wear that rapid throttle increases can cause on the systems of the car.

I can see if you're only going to keep your Camaro for a couple years, and trade it/upgrade it/etc, but if you're keeping your Camaro for a long time, then long term wear may become more of a factor.

Who knows, it might not even increase the wear on the car. But Vitesse even says it might.

Quote:
The Throttle response delay / Lag is an intentional design on the "Drive by Wire system and the reasons are:
Decreasing emissions
Not allowing the engine components to do anything harsh
Safety and drivability
Comfort
Fuel economy
This device gets rid of the lag. That means the device also: increases emissions, increases the chance the engine components do something harsh, decreases safety, decreases comfort, decreases fuel economy.

People with this car generally don't care about emissions, comfort, or fuel economy.

But safety and long term engine functionality may be important to some people.

I'll probably buy one eventually.

But couldn't I make your point for most performance mods out there, if not all?

Can you switch between modes while driving, or does the car have to be stopped/started first?

You can switch any time but it may cause you to speed up or slow down unexpectedly, best to do either when stopped or with foot off the pedal, just coasting when you change it.
