Nice job on the calipers. They look brand new. Were the calipers completely disassembled prior to painting. Was the caliper paint sprayed or brushed on? Where did you obtain the Brembo decals from? After I removed the rust off the bearing hubs I decided not to prime or paint them to prevent further rusting because I felt that smooth finish on the painted rotors would not get stained with rust from the hubs & would wash clean, unlike the original porous finish of the unpainted stock rotors. I will upgrade my brake rotors to something like you have when the original brake pads wear out.

Yes I disassembled the calipers, cleaned them with red scotch brite pads and brake clean. The paint was from a spray can. I had the Brembo decals made a local sign shop.

I don't have a problem with rust, but the hats are dirty. What's an easy way to clean them, and what kind of cleaner to use? For example, will Mothers Foaming Wheel and Tire Cleaner do any good if I spray the hats with that then rinse it off?

the rough, porous surface of the hats will always be difficult to clean unless you paint them like I did. With my painted rotor hats all I do is hit them with a power washer & the brake dust comes right off making them look good as new.

Did this easy, but time consuming mod today to deal with my rear rotor hat rust (tired of hearing about it from car show judges!). Semi Gloss black for the hats, red for the calipers while I had all the wheels off.
