camaro blasts gravel on itself

Ok so where i live is abit off a paved highway and while driving on the gravel roads even at really slow speeds i noticed it sounds like somebody is sand blasting the sides. ive only had it 3 weeks and there are already stone chips on the sides. so the other day while just crawling along on the gravel road i opened the door to look at the tires while driving and it appears that the gravel sticks to the soft summer tires and they fling the gravel up at the car when the gravel is half way up the tire. is it because the tires are a sticky type rubber that it does this or is it because the 20 inch tires are wider or bigger that they fling gravel. i was thinking of the splash gaurds maybe if that would do any good for the gravel flingage. i cant keep the car if it does this. i have to drive so slow to get home and in no time the car is gonna look like crap with all the stone chips.

I put the 3M clear bra on my car including the rocker panels to protect the bottom part of my Camaro. The "flares" (aka mudflap) would help, but I don't care for the look of those.

Well i need more than bottom protection. there are stone chips even up higher right in front of the "gills" and by the angle of them they came from stones thrown all the way from the front tires

I had my 3M protection put on all the way up over the gills too. If I had to drive on a gravel road every day, I probably would have gotten the flares (mud guards) too.

I put the fender flares on my 1LT for this very reason. I've been on gravel roads a lot and I have a chat driveway. Last time I washed my car I didn't notice any rock chips. So far so good and I really don't mind the look of the fender flares. I even had to get my flares painted as GM did not offer them in IBM.

Is this happening to people from everyday driving or just if you happen to drive on gravel? I know there's always some debris in the street, but on regular streets, is this happening?
