This is the correct torque. We also recommend to do this with the car on the ground, suspension settled at rest. That is not mandatory, but is in good practice.

ok thanks guys but what im actually referring to is and please remember i'm a novice but when i go to torque the upper strut bolts wont they just spin without having the torx bit in the middle nut. i just used and special end wrench to tighten the upper strut nut while having a friend hold the torx bit in the center from spinning was this they wrong way to do this. it seemed if i just tried to tighten the nut without holding the torx bolt in place it wouldn't tighten. please fill me in like i said im a very noob here i did the install on the rear of my own car but unfortunately had to have a friend do the front wile i attened a funeral and he's out of the country right now so asking him is out of the question so please help me out here fellas i don wanna screw this up on my buddys new ride

good question, but i dont have the answer. I would try holding the nit in place with the wrench, and put the torx bit on the torque wrench and do it that way.

That IS the correct way to tighten the upper/lower mounting nuts on the piston shaft: Use the torx bit to stop the piston from spinning, and a wrench. Any other way and MOST coilover companies will void warranty as instant damage can occur to the seals and valve packs inside.

Can you use a crow's foot on the torque wrench and adjust the torque setting for its offset?

The change in torque would be minimal. Just set for 65 and go with it....
