Seems that the BMW M drivers are not fans for Active Sound Design

Public: I like the sport BMW but it sounds a little wimpy. :(

BMW:

We need to make our cars sound like muscle cars!

Public: Thats a great idea! An exhaust will help performance and sound!

BMW: No... even better... we'll make the radio play the sound of a Camaro so that when you drive it it sounds like a real sports car.

Public:

Are you stupid? Ill just buy a Camaro.

Yup, thats a terrible idea. Still though, I would happily take an M5. One of those would absolutely spank my camaro. Amazing car.

Thats as stupid as when gm had special people to tune the exhaust note on the camaro when it came out.

Wow that's a cheesy idea, especially from BMW. Hopefully it can be disabled. It seems Ford had a better idea of piping the air intake into the cabin to add sound on the Mustang. I haven't heard anyone complain about it on the stang forums. At least it can be disconnected. Apparently, the Mutang is too quiet and not enough engine noise gets through.

are u crazy ..a stock ls3 will give an m5 a good run...add a good sway bar and sum bushings, do headers, and custom tune..cai...or even better a FI (forced induction) and the bimmer will be killed easily...i kill them for breakfast... granted i am souped up...but even when i wasnt i was there with them

BMW already did this on the older z4...nothing new there. Also the difference between an f10 m5 and our camaro is, yes...they are both fast..but the BMW can do 200 with 4 people in it while enjoying the ventilated/massaging seats with the radar guided cruise control on and if you do that at night you can turn the night vision on...its sick.
