Im moving back to RI in Feb with my camaro. was wondering how your daily drivers are holding up in the snow with stock tires? are you weighing down your trunks? also I have a few qustions on safety inspections and how often you need them.. Where can i go so I pass etc. I have tint on my healights and tail lights that i dont feel like taking off . also if anyone is in the area and wants help working on their car or detailing get togethers i am down. Havent had many issues this winter in the snow or ice and my tires don't pass inspection atm. I know i'm asking for it eventually but time will tell as far as RI/MA inspection stations i know very little but some places won't give you a hard time on the tinting especially if you have HIDs they actually prefer it at some stations.

The stock tires are useless with anything more than 1/2" - 1" of snow on the ground. You will struggle to keep the back end straight on the roads. I thought I could brave it last year and got stuck in only a couple inches of snow, needing a tow to my garage. Ive since upgraded the Pirellis to all seasons. They work great for regular snow. But if we get hit by a Nor'easter I wont take it out as I've got a pretty steep hill to climb to get to my garage.
Mind you I am only talking about as its snowing out and the plows have not hit the road yet. If the plows have hit the road and the snow is fairly compacted down, it shouldnt be too much of an issue driving with the stock tires. |

Welcome back!!
The pirelli p-zeros are crap in the snow. I did one season with them with 300 lbs in the trunk. More than a inch of snow was a challenge. I got pirelli scorpion snow and ice tires for this winter and I have driven through every storm this year. I haven't had any issues with them and I have found that I can do laps around people in snow with these tires. I sadly don't know any shops that work from the back door.

Word is the summer only Pirrellis suck when it gets cool and more when it gets cold. That's why they are called summer tires. Don't drive in the cold with them and not in the snow or ice EVER!
