abl

Ok, I got some door panels with the abl and connector on them. I have a 2011 1ss. Will there be a connector for me to hook up to and if so will the abl work? Thanks for any info.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I'll let 2SSRS give you the final word on that part. But if you don't have the plug you can still tap into the wiring. Just makes it a 3 or 4 step process instead of a 1 step process.

Thanks Stieger, The 1ss has the factory connecter behind you door panel for the ABL But there not going to work there is no power to them, GM removed 2 wires in the BCM to door connecter and that is why it will not work, there is a fix for that if you like to try i can help.

thanks for the input, maybe tomorrow i will start to remove the panels. I dont want to be cutting up wires to do it. I don't have abl now, so its not that big of a deal, was just wondering since the new panels have them.

I just got my ABL door panels put in the doors of my 1LT last night. I don't even have the plugs in my doors so I'm just going to tap into the yellow wire on the window controls for power and then the black for ground.

OK. Only downside to using the yellow wire is that you are unable to turn them off. You can dim them with the knob thingy but you can't actually turn them off.

So the yellow wire makes them come on even during the day, even though you wouldn't be able to see them? What wire should I use then? What's the best way to go about it if you don't have the ABL plugs in the doors?

No, they are only one when your interior lights are on. This only happens when your headlights or Halos are turned on. They also are not bright. You wont notice them on even with your interior lights on untill its dark out.

so even if i plugged the connectors in they will not work. I also heard that they would work if the dealer programed it. Is this correct.

On a 2011 that is right, on a 2010 GM removed wires in the cab so it wont work.

The ABL is on whenever your headlights are on.
