Front sway bar removed anyone?
Thinking about removing my front away bar for a lil better weight transfer
So anyone have there's removed ? And how does it ride on street ? I have mine removed on truck and it transfers badass but not sure how car will feel? So need info Last edited by Chevrolade; 10-13-2013 at 04:06 PM. |

Yikes, to be honest I can't imagine that will accomplish anything but mess up your car's handling and make it dangerous during evasive maneuvers if you find yourself swerving to avoid an accident. Body roll will also suck.
Your best bet is to install a bigger rear sway bar. Also, starting in 2012 the Camaro's rear sway bar mounting was revised which dramatically improved handling and reduced understeer. Contact Pete at Pedders, he can give you the parts you need to make the update. He can recommend a group of parts to meet your goal and and budget.

Unless your car is a trailer it to the track car you should not remove your front sway bar. Remove one endlink stud nut and secure the endlink so it does not foul with the front suspension at the track. The front sway bar is now disabled to enhance weight transfer. When you track day is over, put it back on.

We removed the front sway bar on our BMR Suspension 2010 Camaro a while ago but it only sees very minimal street duty so it isn't a big deal. If you drive the car a bunch I wouldn't remove the sway bar completely but instead just undo one of the end links from the sway bar and tie it up to the strut itslef. This will give you the same effect but without having to remove the entire sway bar.

mines off . the car lifts alot more then before. i dd mine aswell its go more roll but nothing to bad. but i dont flyon the road anyway. but it still sticks in a curve better then i thought i it would. does it handle like before no . does it feel bad not at all. but im no road racer.

Really? You guys are scaring me, LOL. Doesn't sound like an engineered solution that could work well on the track or street.

I removed mine yesterday completely will see how it feels soon as I get my intake on.shed 10lbs lol

Removing your front sway bar and driving on the street is a bad idea. Everything is just fine as long as everything is under control. When you are forced to make an emergency maneuver for whatever reason, the control the sway bar provides is be the difference between a near miss or something much worse.

We remove the front sways on cars that see a lot of drag strip time. It does let the front end transfer better.

I DD a 1981 Camaro with no sway bar and a spool for a long time in my early 20s. I'll do it again lol.
