With the top up the Camaro just looks goofy. IMO. Down it is ok, almost seems longer. I know its not, but just the way the pictures are I guess. I also don't understand how the article can say the Vert is a better car than the coupe? Same car except without a roof.

I hear ya'. I've driven convertible vettes, they rock. But, wouldn't buy one. I'd prefer the ZR1 coupe.

I won't be trading mine in for a Vert at any point but that's mainly due to that weird look with the top up. Great read although I wouldn't say it's better than the coupe.

I wouldn't mind owning either one, although I'd probably go for the coupe.

Ideally I'd have both, but I'm a poor college student who didn't win the lottery.

You got that right. I still remember the glowing 1st reviews of the Camaro way back when, and now in the most recent issue they go out of their way to sh!t on it (really, renting a car when you can't get one? Leave it out of the comp then. What magazine has ever done that???) Anyways though, great pics here...the 4th one down almost makes the top-up car look like a fastback/hatchback coupe.

Was it public knowledge that the rear quarter windows could roll down? This is the first I've heard of it. That 4-button window switch panel looks funny.

Lookin' good! That review was pretty good, too, considering the source, IMO. I like that STB!!!

Identical to the one used in the CTS-V. The Camaro version looks to be finished a little better too!

Best regards,

Elie

Why would you? you live way up north!

I've owned two convertibles in my life time and it is nice to drive around with the top down.
For me though, it gets old...and I stopped using it.
But when I first bought a convertible..top was always down..except when it rained. I didn't care if it was 20º outside..top was down and had heater on full blast

With all due respect to Motor Trend, and that isn't much since they're usually wrong, I cannot agree with much of this review. People get drop-tops for the wind in their hair, and that's it. They don't EVER make the car better in any other way. As much as I love the Camaro, the convertible is NOT better looking, its heavier, less fuel efficient, the only increase in noise is wind noise because nothing else changed, the On-Star antenna on the almost-not-even-worth-it trunk is ridiculous looking, the roof DOES look like an emaciated horse, and finally, the teeny-tiny rear window exacerbates one of the most commonly complained-about visibility issues on the Camaro. If you want wind in your hair, this is your car. If you want a better looking, better performing, more cost effective, and safer car, stick with coupes. Having said that, props to Chevy for not letting the stiffness issue makes its way on to the list.

Now - why'd you go and do that?... I can see that fitting a convertible Z28 pretty nicely

I'm glad that GM and Camaro are healthy enough to offer the vert, and soon the Z/28.

But personally, I don't like anything about verts: the looks, the noise, the wind, the cost.

Particularly on the Camaro, the coupe has such a great, aggressive look that is wiped out by that silly looking rag top.
