Out of all those that got the BA system...
...I guess nobody installed a sub. I can't believe it. One of the biggest subjects in this forum was how to hook up the sub with the mystery connections in the trunk. Well.....was the mystery solved? Anyone...anyone....Bueler....Bueler...

When I get my car back from the dealership later today, I'll do some investigating with a camera, how about that?

Sounds good. LOL. After all the fuss about the sub hook ups in the trunk, all of a sudden the forum went quiet about it. Just bizarre. Thanks for investigating. I have a feeling the mysterious sub hook ups in the trunk are a myth. I bet there are no pre-amp in/out jacks back there and you have to run cabling all the way up to the head unit anyway but it would be nice to know that for sure.

Now, I'm not going to disassemble the entire back-end, but I'll do my best to investigate all the nooks and crannies...

After seeing photos there and taking into account this would be a dealer installed option, I would bet the sub/amp setup comes with a pass through harness you plug inline to the amp.

There's already pictures up somewhere around here of the trunk dismantled. All you really see is factory wiring going to the factory amp, not much else going on to take note of.
What we need is the install instructions for the GMPP sub system. |

So, I was going to get in there last night and do some investigating, but I've got some kind of cold/flu thing going on and I feel like s$!% so I didn't get after it. If I feel better today, I'll try to go outside and play doctor

The factory amp and battery all ready in the trunk, it's got to be one of the easiest aftermarket setups ever! Here's the wiring layout... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24704 The rest is up to you!

You can opt to replace the GM amp w/ another w/ a sub RCA outputs to connect a 2nd dedicated sub amp(w/o having to tap into the deck)..appears that the GM amp is using the hi(wire harness) inputs from the deck(only downside is to get a hi/lo adaptor or re-wire the harness to the new full-range amp).
