Sounds like you found a good place. In pa, Tom Henry Chevy is top notch and does alot of performance mods.

I'm finding it hard to believe an over oiled air filter caused it.

Im curious to how the MAF getting oil on it would cause a stabilitrac issue? Thats the only thing i can think of that a little oil might effect.

Im genuinely curious if any of the car experts out there could shine some light on that...

Why would the MAF sensor be an aftermarket one? When you install a CAI you use the original sensor.

A MAF with some oil film on it would cause a lean condition. How it would cause the stabilitrac error and not a check engine light is confusing though. I'm guessing they couldn't find the stabilitrac problem, were checking codes and data and happened to see high fuel trims. Saw the K&N filter and decided to clean the MAF and reset the computer.

It came on as your were driving as in driving it back home? If so, I'd take it right back ask for $ back and to fix the issue at hand that they did not correct.

OK then Im not crazy, i was confused completely about a stabilitrac issue being caused by the MAF....

So i would take it to another dealer.....a technician telling you with a straight face the MAF caused a stabilitrac issue seems a bit suspect......

And I would tell them they need to give you your money back, if they want to switch the original MAF back in i would be fine with that. If they dont have the old part they should refund you at least part, 50% at least seems fair, of the money back...it was thier misdiagnoses that had them replace a part they didnt need to....

I agree with you. Something here stinks.

Believe it or not guys, you can get a stabilitrac message caused by a MAF sensor. I used to see it all the time at the dealership i used to work at.
