rear tires to big

here is my problem.i have coilovers.I have 238-60r18 tires on the front and 315-50-17 mt tire type r on the rear. The car squats so hard the drivers side fender rubs on the side of the tire.now if i turn up the coilovers up, the weight doesn't transfer.it just spins.i have 90/10 coilovers on the front. So i am going to try to crank up the driver side coilover and not the left and see what happens???

My car reacts just the opposite. I installed adjustable coilovers and if is set compresion and rebound up on the back to allow squat the tires dont hook but the do rub. If i turn up compression and rebound the rear doe not squat but it hooks much better.

My car dynod 610 when tuned last. A friend talked me into two way adjustable rear shocks and it has been the best decision yet to help with not hooking up. I have viking adjustables and with 305 nitto street drag radials I can set the shocks up soft (2 compression and 6 rebound) and the car squats and rubs the tires. I also am pedaling 1st and 2nd gear.

Same road and set the shocks at 9 and 14 and i do not need to pedal 1st or 2nd gear but do leave marks. All thi by just adjusting shocks. The rear does not squat on launch with these dialed in either.

I am on 18 inch wheels. The guy who discussed the adjustable shocks to me said on some cars the delay time to get the rear to squat down allows the tires to break loose before the weight transfers through to the tires.

By eliminating the instant squat it transfers that energy quickly to the tires instead of the delay time used for getting the car to squat.

I have repeated the test twice on my car and eliminating the initial squat by tightening up compresssion and rebound makes a night and day difference for my car. I was not a believer at first but was supprised how much the shock tune can affect initial traction.

let me know what you find on your testing. It was explained to me that upping compression on shocks pushes the weight transfer through to the tires.

Upping the rebound keeps the suspension loaded between shifts.
