I know I could call GM or a dealer but I guess I thought I could ask here without the attitude as we know how some dealers are a little clueless on some things and I don't totally trust my local dealer anyway.
I think the safe bet is just to avoid 18"s, unless you can try and make em fit before you buy em. I hear ya about not trusting the dealerships though, lol.

I guess there COULD be SOME 18" wheel out there that would fit... i just wouldnt risk ordering them from somewhere, because if they dont fit, you'd probably be stuck with the return shipping bill.

I am going to try and drop in to Simply Tire tonight and see what they can offer. They have been doing a goup buy on RFD's and seem to be the best local price around (GTA). I'll post any info I get.
sweet, I await your post.

If it's a much better price, I will maybe not go through with the heritage steelies...

FYI, i'm told that the pricing I got was lowered because I bought the car from them... so it might be a little more for 'outsiders'...

As for me, i've decided to go with Heritage 18" steelies (i have a 2LT) with the winterforce tires. Reviews seemed to be good enough to justify going with the cheaper tires, and my dealership was willing to give me a price break on the wheels/sensors.

Bring on the snow!!

The confusion comes from the fact that tire rack lists 18" rims that are FOR the SS...

Hey, we have a 2LT RS, we got our tires and rims from the Tire Rack with rims, sensors and Firestone winter tires delivered to Saskatchewan for $1750 ( CDN) all in. Had them installed at the dealership today, no problem using the 18" rims. Seems to ride nice. Hit some icy patches in town and drove on the highway in flurries of snow, no problems. I guess we will see in the heavier stuff.
We found the Tire Barn to be the best deal, hope this helps.

What is the correct GM Part Number for the TPM sensor? I have these numbers 12768826, 1924930, and 25880395 with a 15263240 valve stem.

Yeah guys, quit pickin' on the winter Camaro drivers.

Jeff - I don't know if you saw my other posts on this forum but I have a dealer installed rust/corrosion inhibitor module. It costs $699 and I bought it as an option to possibly drive it in the winter. I think I might buy winter tires for it and take it for spins on nice days in the winter. We'll have to see. I just don't want to store it..too much hassle. I bought this car to drive. Might be a collector's item but I don't want to make money from collecting baseball cards, vintage clothing, toys wrapped in their original packaging and cars. I make money in other ways.

I will try to enjoy this car as much as I can. You only live once guys. Drive it like it's stolen. HAHAHA j/k

Rust Inhibitor Module.. is this one of those little electronic devices that sacrifice their own metal to the car to replace the lost electrons from the rust or some such thing?
zinc-alloy I believe....

anyway, I tried one once on an old Dodge truck of mine, didn't seem to help but I have no way of measuring how much rust I would've had with or without the device as I had no control Dodge.

I've read up on them a lot and they're useless crap. So I would totally expect a dealer to try selling you one for almost $700. Seems about right.

Regular washing and keeping the car cold should work good

Though... If the windows freeze shut...
