SHO fighter idea

I was thinking, what if (this is a big hypothetical) GM put a turbo 3.0 SIDI in the Malibu, gave it a better performing suspension, maybe new bumpers and called it the Z34? I think it would be a pretty cool idea and competition for the SHO.

I think the SHO is a great looking car and should have some go-go too. That's why Chevy needs its own version.

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea. But it would have to wait until GM gets straightened out a little but more though.

So, why do you feel GM needs it's own version of the car?

Oh wait, now I remember. For some people, no matter how good it looks, how well it performs, how much it costs or what kind of quality it delivers, they would still not purchase one simply because it has a blue oval on it and not a bowtie.:(

Called loyalty?

A concept lost to most Americans...

To each their own.

I have no problem with loyalty, just brand loyalty in general. (Heck, I'm a life-long Cubs fan. If that's not loyalty, I don't know what is!) I try to do my best to buy products from American-based companies (which is not that easy these days, as you probably well know) but I am not so blindly loyal to any company to simply take what they have to offer regardless of what a competitor might have available.

I have never purchased a foreign automobile, and I doubt that I ever will. I have no probelm, however, cross-shopping GM, Ford or Chrysler products.

Quite the contrary, the SHO is the first car from ford that has me gushing. It is in my top 5 list of cars to get. I just think GM should bring back the Z34, or any of the old time Z monikers as well. I am a huge fan of the 90's pocket rockets, econo box performers, like my Z24 or the SHO. It would be like the muscle car thing, each of the big three have their own, now if they had their own hot sedans or small cars again that would be awesome.

And I know Chevy has the cobalt SS but that is besides the point I am trying to make.

QFT.. except when it comes to the Mushtang.

I wouldn't be caught dead driving one.. F150, SHO, Hell even the Transtar or whatever that van thing is.. Just no Mushtang.

It's called competition for sales. If there were no competition there wouldn't be a Camaro or even a Mustang

Yeah, you're right. I have no idea how Ford managed to sell so many Mustangs between 2003 and 2008 without a Camaro or Challenger to compete against it.

an amped up sedan sounds like a decent idea, for those who want to go fast, but need the 'practicality' of a comfortable back seat and just a larger car in general. i'm still young, so i'll likely get a camaro next time i'm car shopping in 2-3 years, but i know that eventually i'm going to have to look for that 'practical car'. but hey, i still wanna go fast

There's a Buick Regal GS out in my Driveway now, that's the supercharged version of the 3.8 V6, and it's a ton of fun to drive. it's only 240hp, up from 200 in the normal Regals, but my 1999 standards i'd say that it has a fair size engine.
A 4 door family sedan that can haul ass? i'd buy it.
