4th Annual Bucks County Covered Bridge Cruise 10/12/14

RIDE IS ON!

Here is the route we will be taking this year. For those that made it last year, you may find it to be very similar to last year's route...OK, it's exactly the same and here's why. First, we managed to keep everyone together which is always a good thing, and the more of us who know the route the better we will be at making sure no one gets lost. Second, we worked out a way to have a photo-op with one of the planes (one car at a time) so we are on a tighter timetable this year. We will have one planned stop in Peddler's Village for everyone to regroup for the last leg of the cruise.

A few other notes...when we get ready to begin the cruise, myself (and any other volunteers) will leave before everyone else to get to the first covered bridge. This will give us time to get setup to take pictures as everyone crosses. Once you get to the bridge, please continue driving up the road and around the bend to allow plenty of room for everyone else to cross. We may need to stop periodically to allow other cars to cross the bridge.

Please remember to bring your walkie-talkies if you have them. We will use channel 5, subchannel 0 since not all radios have subchannels.

Once we get to the Van Sant airport, please park along the side of the road. We will then have to wait for instructions from one of the airport employees on how to proceed with driving to the plane. After that, we can hit up the concession stand, hang out, and watch the planes.

The concession stand at the airport SUCKS! Pack a lunch and some drinks. The airport is Great, watching the planes take off and land. The cruise in Great, but bring your own food and a picnic blanket.

It's OK, tell us how you really feel about their food...LOL Packing a lunch is a good suggestion though.

Comparing previous cruises, we found it easier to end it at the airport, but if the majority would rather head elsewhere to lunch, we are definitely open to suggestions.
