Can anyone help...... The Orange panels on the interior are they standard on the 2LT are there any options to not have RED or Orange as this is a bold move to me.

The new steering wheel is much more comfortable to me, and I have a lot of miles in the 10 and 11s. It is noticably more comfortable. I haven't really noticed the chevy bowtie after the first day, but I too would have liked to see CAMARO there instead. But overall a big improvement. Again, this is MY opinion.

The adjustable passenger seat is a huge hit with my lovely wife. And also was nice when I adjusted it up making it much easier for my 85 year old Dad to get in an out. My wife has a Solstice also and I wish it had the height adjustment in it. This was a good move for the 2012.

The door locks- OK at first I was glad we did that. But to be honest, I have hardly used them. I always seem to go to the center lock button (yes it is still there). Guess its muscle memory or I'm just old and forget they are now in on the door.

The Orange panels on the interior at first were distracting and just not my cup of tea. But they have grown on me. Very in your face and I like that in a car such as the Camaro. More importantly my wife likes them and they have drawn mostly good reviews from the many folks in 5 states that have looked at the car.

the V6 323 HP. To be honest I don't see much increase in power. But its been awhile since I drove another V6. Mileage for the first 500 or so miles was just at 25MPG. That was mostly flat MI and OH highway driving. And no I wasn't going above the legal limit.
The second 500, I reset it after 530 miles. Was actually better. Approaching 26, but a lot of stop and go, very hilly, twisting roads. So I am pretty happy with that.

At 1000 miles, no issues to report and I look for any and all. I nitpick everything on a CTF car, that is what they are for.

So in summary, good handling, decent fuel economy, door buttons -take them or leave them, steering wheel a hit with me, adjustable seat hit with the 'boss'.

I will post some more pics of the gauges and engine compartment as some have requested.

Hope everyone had a safe 4th!
And thanks for supporting this great vehicle!

I believe that the matching orange door panels come standard with the IOM interior package. I have seen just the panels for purchase at a few aftermarket sites. You could probably order them directly from GM as well. I haven't looked at the ordering guide for the '12s though so I can't say 100%. But if you just get the black interior, you just get the stock door panels (not orange). I hope that answers your question.

Here are some more pics. I ran into a camaro5 member in VA and we compared vehicles.

For those that asked for more detailed pics of the gauges and interior here you go. The 4 pack gauges are the same as in previous years. 1st pic is 2012RS 2nd is 2010 SS

It also is a Captured Test Fleet GM vehicle that I am lucky enough to drive for several months.

Have not got a name yet, but she is very very orange!

It is a 2LT RS No Sunroof but everything else.

So far after a hour and half ride home,,, I love her!

6 spd Manual.

The new steering wheel is much nicer, at least to me as I was not a fan of the previous version.

The soft stitching on the dash really help with the expanse of gray/black plastic on dash.

And she may be a 6, but she still zips right along!!

Also like the locks on the door versus the center console.

Will be leaving on a trip to PA, and VA so should get some good driving time in.

Please be safe this weekend and thankful of all those who still serve to protect our freedom ...in every clime and place!!
Thank you for the update on the car and most importantly for your service to our country! My oldest son is Marine stationed at Miramar, CA (HMH-462) Semper Fi

What is this graphic here? Not seen that before, assume it's new for 2012.

When you adjust the HVAC controls, this graphic comes on the display panel of the radio, shows what speed the fan is on, where vents are set, etc. pretty neat.
It comes on for a few seconds then returns to the previous screen.

I wonder if the 2010/2011's radio can be programmed/updated to have this....
