Do not give XM a Credit Card #

I recieved XM radio with my 2011 Camaro. Expired early Nov. 2010 and I cancelled. Dec. 03, 2011, they offered me 12 months for $106.31 (till Dec. 03, 2011). I accepted and gave XM a credit card #.
Dec. 03, 2011, received a phone call from XM to renew. Called them back, Dec. 04, 2011, my renewal was $199.48, said no way and cancelled. They disconnected my radio Dec. 05.
The day they called me to say it was time to renew, they charged my credit card $199.48. I called XM Dec. 04, cancelled, was promised they would issue a cedit card debit.

Today, Jan. 04, XM has not issued a debit. Time spent on the phone today and XM finally admitted they never issued me a credit card debit last Dec. 04. Spent two hours on the phone today with XM and finally my Visa Bank credit card people interceded and we had a 3-way conference call. XM promised to issue the credit tommorrow. What a bunch of BS.

Never, never, give XM your credit card #. Even if you later cancel that credit card, XM can still charge you on that closed card, charge you for a cancelled XM account.

Two hours today dealing with XM and my bank credit card. So pissed off with my bank for making it so hard to put a hold on this purchase, dispute this unautheroized purchase of $199.48.

I understand it will take 15 days before the next step. I told my bank, who issued this Visa Card I am seriously pissed off. If this is not resolved in 15 days I will pay my bank Visa the 199.48, but then I will move about $126,000 of my assets to another bank.

Thank you XM for screwing over another customer.

Can you believe it, I cancelled this Visa card 10 months ago. Yet, XM can still charge on a cancelled credit card. Thought I was protected when I canelled the credit card. By law, apprently not. By law, if the vender had an approval on your credit card, even after you cancelled that card, the vendor can continue to charge you for renewal fees even after you cancelled your account with XM. This is what XM does. I learned today, if you want to cancel your account with XM, YOU MUST request cancellation, and request they reply in writting and get a canellation confirmation #.
I did not want to spend 2-hours of my day, today, dealing with this crap with XM. At least after 2-hours, my bank Visa card people made a 3-way conference call to XM to try to resolve.

I keep getting calls like three times a week because my free subscription is about to expire. I keep telling them im not interested, because of their billing practices and that after a few weeks of listening I noticed they play the same crap over and over again just like regular radio..
They say that they understand and still try to sell me a plan for $60 bucks for 6 months.

I had a similar experience with Dish Network. I notified Visa that they made unauthorized charges to my account. I closed the account and Visa took the money back from them and put it back on my card. It was my Visa debit card through my credit union, don't know if all visa cards will protect the cardholder like that.

I don't see how they can charge a card after the account has been closed.

I have had them resume billing on my card at least three times. I like their music selection but the signal is so compressed I can't take the sound quality (or lack thereof) . Touch no other knob but put a cd in and listen to the change in volume and clarity.

I had this same bullshit from xm happen to me last week. I ordered it under a promotion. They said they would call when it expires and ask if I wanted to renew. They never called. Instead they charged $90 to my credit card. Luckily I have a nifty app on my phone to check my bank and I do it often. That's how I caught it. I held on the phone for 27 minutes and then they hung up on me. So I called back and held for another twenty minutes. Then when I finally got someone on the phone and told them the deal (again) she put me on hold for 12 more minutes. Then as I was canceling she offered it to me at half price. I declined. That was about $45. So after declining, she offered it to me half price plus two months free. I declined. Then offered it at $30. Declined. Then at $25. I declined and told her she could stop. Then I told her if she offered it to me for free I don't want it. I told her about holding forever. Getting hung up on and just general poor customer service. I said I don't want anything from a company that just charges your credit card without your permission and then gives you nine kinds of hell trying to fix it. Even if it's free. Screw xm.

For the record they have always credited me for the fraudulent charges once I found them on my statement and waited on the phone for 20 minutes.
