L99 solo cat install tips?

My set of Solo hf cats come in today! Any tips or special tools to make it a quick and smooth install?

Loosen the O2 sensors before removing the factory pipes. Its easier with the pipes firmly mounted.

Also spray some penetrating oil on the bolts the night before you install. Some put it on the O2's as well but it can cause O2 codes later on if you go over board. My O2 senors came off without needing the oil.

Lastly make sure the car is cool so you dont burn your self.

Have fun!

take your time with the O2's and don't force them. I had one be tough and just had to rock it back and forth and it eventually came out. and the clips that hold the O2 wiring in place are a bit of a pain, there is a little piece of plastic that acts as a lock (totally un-necessary).

My O2 sensors came loose twice. I would use some locktite when you install. I think I have aluminum extensions, and SOLO may have changed to a different metal.

Those Solo high flow cats are a great mod for anyone wanting to avoid headers. Glad the install went nice and easy!

Glad it went well. I put mine on several weeks ago, and haven't had any problems at all (except now my right foot seems to want to goose the throttle all the time)
