I know this has prob been covered but when is the typical timeframe for ordering a car? I know this is a little different but is it feb-aug? I'm think of ordering last in the season once the hype (and gouging dies down).

gouging is only bad if you go to a bad dealer, scotty is selling at msrp (i think) and my dealer (Dave Smith in Idaho) is selling at 500 under invoice, why you ask? they both make thier money in volume sold not by selling a few cars for exorbatant prices. if you can Go to scotty, or dave smith or a local dealer that will sell at msrp or less. dealers that gouge need to be taught a lesson

I think this just helps the factory order paint, parts & various options well in advance to avoid a restraint (meaning shortage, causing a delay on production) on a certain item.
Thats exactly what Im thinking also. GM doesnt want the same thing to happen to them that happened to Ford with the My Color option when the new mustangs came out.

You can order a car anytime you want if you dont like what is on the dealers lot. The wait will probably end up being around a month or two after the factory starts producing a good number of cars.

2-8 weeks from placing the order....it will arrive.

Let's watch the market & demand.....maybe by next summer we'll see a lot of prices near invoice. BUT NO ADDITIONAL DEALER MARK-UP!!!!!!

mark up varies from car to car...If they are competitive against Challenger, Mustang and their target Nissan.... it may be thin. I'd hate to even guess.

I'm a CAMARO LOVER not a fighter

but the non-chevy car buyer in me dislikes mark up....and sharing your mark up news and 75+ deposits for an unknown allocation....that just leads to disappointment...

i would say there might be some variance in msrp vs invoice because invoice may go up but msrp may not in an effort to continue moving cars in spite of increased costs that caused invoice to increase

small town dealers sell small volumes and in my experiance forget about the internet and telephone and that people are willing to drive long distances to buy cars so they want to stick it to people in the price
