Thanks for all the compliments from everyone. I took it to Charleston, SC yesterday through historic downtown and had a great drive. I also got the windows tinted 27% with a 5% windshield strip.
About my Marine Corps career: Jan-April, 2001 - Bootcamp, MCRD San Diego, CA April 01-May 02 - Random schools (MCT, "A" School, "C" School) May 02-Jan 03 - MALS-14, Cherry Point, NC Jan 03-June 03 - Deployed aboard the USS Bataan with VMA-223/VMA-542 to the Persian Gulf for Operation Enduring/Iraqi Freedom June 03-Nov 05 - MALS-14, Cherry Point, NC Nov 05-Nov 08 - "C" School Instructor, CNATT MarUnit, Cherry Point, NC Nov 08-Jan 09 - MALS-31, MCAS Beaufort, SC Jan 09-July 09 - Deployed to Iwakuni, Japan to MALS-12 with VMFA(AW)224 July 09-Jan 10 - MALS-31, MCAS Beaufort, SC And in late 09, I was approved by a medical review board for early retirement due to having asthma. I was, and still am, able to do most physical things that the Marine Corps requires, however, the 3 mile run in less than 28 minutes would'nt always go as planned. I've been tested, poked, proded, etc. for 3 years and they haven't been able to find the right mixture of medications to get me where I need to be, so as of Feb 27, 2010, I'm officially a retired US Marine. About a month ago, I started working for Navy Federal Credit Union as a recruit presentation specialist. Basically, when Marine Recruits show up to bootcamp, they were given one bank automatically. Now, they can choose between them and us, and when they pick us, we do presentations telling them about our benefits and signing them up and everything. That's what my job is. And, as of August 1, I have my BS in Business Management/Finance. So although I'm out of the Corps, I'm still around Marines and I'm doing well. So that's my story! Joe |
