so all these fires are from the V6's?
Stig I am so sorry to hear about your car! I hope things turn around for you. Are you sure Jeremy, Richard or James didn't do something to your car to get back at you for something? lol sorry, but I really do hope things work out well for you.

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ on the left side of the page you can search by vehicle, make, model and year. This site will list all recalls and associated TSB's. Hopefully this is a small problem and dosent effect too many cars. Until thats proven I would just park outside the garage for a while..... |

Ok got the 411 on this.
If you have a 2010 SS refer to this http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2010/...amaro/recalls/ call the number have them look up your VIN to see if yours was affected. "DEALERS WILL REROUTE THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE TO ENSURE ADEQUATE CLEARANCE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 6, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 OR AT WWW.GMOWNERCENTER.COM."

For sure - with all of the water that gets into some of the convertibles, they'll never burn...

Really? The parking brake to stop it? Why didn't they just turn off the key?

Because then you'd lose the power steering and the ability to brake. Being said, the guy should have put the car in neutral.

Well heck! This is very concerning.
My car is my baby, but I'd much rather just she go up in flames rather than my entire house! (garaged) So this seems to be more of a V6 thing from what I gather from reading this thread, and has to do from heat, or some kind of electrical charge since the fires are happening after sitting for awhile. That just great.... Hope to see some kind of resolution come from this to ease our minds.

+1. I think I might just start parking mine in the drive way and not in the Garage, I mean honestly, I love my car but if it was to burn down I would prefer to have one car burning down rather then taking another car parked next to it and our home along with it.
