From some angles the Camaro is Awesome. From others, ugly IMHO.

This can only be good news for all enthusiasts...every manufacturer will/should up their game to keep up.

Either way...I am not currently in a position financially to pay more than 30-40k for a car...well not if I want to have anything else in life lol...
I understand why you would either want to debate aftermarket tuner cars vs aftermarket tuner cars, or factory vs factory... but mixing the two is pretty pointless in my opinion.

However many hp the gt500 has though, it still has huge issues putting it down, which is not the case with the ZL1.

However, when the Gt500 comes out with independent suspension and being able to put some of the 650 hp down... let's just say that the ZL1 will have some catching up to do.
Better do a little more research on the ZL1, they are having the same traction/wheelhop issues that the GT500 does.

I agree with the traction and wheel hop problem, you can see massive wheel hop in this video at the 48sec mark and this video at the 125 sec mark, traction and massive wheel hop 143 sec mark.
it is to be expected...490 rwhp is quite a bit of power!

The ZL1 has still yet to break the gt500's stock 1/4 record with more horsepower. . . that doesn't really support the idea that the zl1 doesn't have issues putting down the power.

OP Shelby had no part in the design of the gt500, SVT designed the car.

This site is going downhill fast. Flame bait threads like this one are getting more and more common, and unfortunately the mods seem to encourage them.

The fanboys and girls are taking over, and soon this site will be nothing but a big Camaro circle-jerk. When all the real car enthusiasts are gone, it's going to get real boring when there's no one left to argue with. It's not much fun thumping your chest when everyone agrees with you.

Maybe it's the ZL1 and upcoming Shelby that's bringing out the worst, I don't know, but the insecurities around here lately are really getting out of hand. It's really not much fun around here anymore.

When I checked out the Mustang, the 6 speed transmission was Chinese. Not that there is not plenty of Chinese parts in the Camaro, but not enough to be on the sticker. It was certainly a turn-off when I was shopping.

IMHO - if GM didn't get a bailout they wouldn't be here now and I'd be driving a Mustang with a Chinese transmission. It was an investment that paid off. They are building cars we love.

I'm not happy that the 3.7's and GT's have the chinese transmission either, but it is what it is I suppose.

Glad the GT500 has the same transmission as the last few years as well as strengthened it and hopefully worked out some 1-2 shift issues.

Your right... that zl1 is putting it down alright... I dont care what kind of magnetic ride whatever suspension you have its not gonna make a crappy driver go fast like they so state.....

Thank you! +1000000

I find that there are a lot more Camaro enthusiasts on here than CAR enthusiasts. There's nothing wrong with loving the Camaro. It's an amazing car and I love mine. But it's sad that people can't even give another car props just because it isn't a Camaro.

I honestly do love the ZL1 camaro, its pretty sweet, but if there is a faster car I am going to acknowlege it for what it is. There are plenty of quicker cars, then the gt500 and camaro... I just dont get why people get there panties in a bunch with whatever car gets outperformed. BE HAPPY the big three are going at it hard with the probably last EVER horsepower wars.....
