3.91 Gears on Bone Stock 2010 LS3

So I daily drive the car and have to drive the freeway every day so I believe the best gear would be the 3.91 however before I pull the trigger on buying and having the gears installed is there another upgrade I should do before gears that would compliment or is needed for the gears?

Is there anyone that has put 3.91 gears on a stock LS3 and regretted it, loved it , or has some words of wisdom? Appreciate the input.

Thanks!

You'll *probably* lose 1-3 mpg.

You'll love everything else. If you don't get the GM kit that comes with the calibration code for the speedometer you'll need to get it tuned to adjust. Other than that, you'll be extremely happy. Bang for the buck, there's not much better.

AAM gears (GM kit) should also be silent when installed right. Don't let them be installed and have a whine, no matter how slight, afterwards. Be somewhat easy on it (no hard launches or extended freeway speeds like 80 mph for 30 minutes straight) for 500 miles or so after the install. Drain and refill the fluid and you'll be good to go.

Love mine, I drove mine from Clarksville Tn to Cincinnati OH on 3/4 doing 80 mph dam near the whole way with a few 100mph passes.

My only suggestion would be to upgrade to 1LE axles about 150 bucks each. Also running the Z/28 intake with a Bo White ported and polished TB makes your stock LS3 really wake up.

Next mod is a set Z/28 headers an cats should be worth a little extra an make up for some of mpg's.
