Friend Put a Hole in the Seat

I had a friend ride with me today to go grab lunch and somehow he punctured a hole in my seat He was actually the one that pointed it out to me and had me go out to my car and check on it, because he said that he did the same in his car. The hole is about the size of a straw and is on the part of the seat about where your wallet would fit. He has offered to pay for it but I'm really torn on what to do. What would you guys do? Would you guys just let it go and call it a day, or actually have him pay the money to fix it? Also, does anyone know what the cheapest route would be? I was thinking about seat covers but decent ones look to be about in the 200-300 dollar range.

If I put a hole in my friend's car I would offer to pay for the repair so I don't see what's wrong with accepting the money

Yea not to rub it in your face but I got the "seat", warranty it covers any damage even cigarette burns...but if you feel bad to make him pay for it all why don't you split it?

He did it to his own car, first? Why didn't he correct the issue that caused the damage to his own car? Hell yeah I'd make him pay for repairs. We all have a responsibility for our actions. Just sayin.

If he pays he might not make another hole next time he rides with you.

Even friends should pay for something they damage. I've got 3 people I love who I will never loan a vehicle to again because they each brought it back dented, one brought my pickup back t-bone totalled. I think it's pretty crappy of them to not even offer to pay for repair.

I got this too just in case something like this happens. You might try an upholstery shop and see if they can replace the panel of the seat cover.
