Probably a noob question but...

What mods require a tune? I apologize if this has been asked before but I searched and couldn't find anything that really answered that.

Several, but anything called a "tune" voids your nice long power-train warranty. Think about it hard before you do it, the 2011 engine is not cheap. I'd stick with a new exhaust, maybe a cold air intake.... but nothing crazy unless you've got 10K in the savings account. I noticed a lot of mods that require a tune in the computer and they will void your PTW without a blink of the eye.

Why is a tune so forbidden? Not that I'm modding anyway but still... The more you know...

Yeah I'm not actually planning on adding anything that will void my warranty but I was just wondering out of curiosity what would need a tune also could be useful info for the future

90% of the Cold Air Intakes do not require a tune. Catback or Axleback exhaust does not require a tune. Either of these should not affect your drivetrain warranty.

Once you get to Long Tube Headers you will need a tune. Adding a Cam or larger power adder will also require a tune.

cai or exhaust won't require a tune but headers, cam, supercharger will...i didn't really concern myself with the warranty as i installed engine mods after having my bb for only 3 months why have it if i can't enjoy it
