Have you ever tried hitting WOT in 2nd gear or 3rd gear with 700rwhp.Instant tire smoke! If you do a 4th gear pull WOT you will be running 140mph on the street. You ll not get any good WOT data logging with that much power on the street . You will need a dyno to get your WOT done. I know your trying to prove a point, however when you start making a certain amount of HP, tuning on street becomes to dangerous. And we would like to see you around the forums for awhile!

Chris

Good points and I understand and agree with your comments. Thanks for your imput. I do have access to two 1/4 mile strips that are within 1.5 hours of my location which does help with me being able to do some safe datalogging. I am pretty sure that I would not be pushing over 140 in a 1/4 mile especially if I took it easy up to 3rd gear and then eased into the WOT in third using my tap shifters.

I do fully understand and agree your comments and bow to your expertise which is car in excess of mine on this for sure. Doing this type of datalogging on the street is not only unsafe but totally irresponsible and I certainly do not advocate that in any way.

One last question, is WOT data different depending on differnet gear your in or speed of car, say in 3rd gear at 70 to 100 mph compared to say 4th or 5th gear at top speed for those gears?

I guess it would depend on if the car actually hooks up?

There are much newer threads discussing this very same subject and I have provided enough information for anyone to make a educated decision as to what is best for them.

I have also proven time and time again that my remote custom tunes are as good or better than dyno tunes.

Ted.
