But this is a lightly modded 4.0 we are talking about here that shouldn't stand a chance unless the Camaro missed the launch or a gear or something. Just take a look at these times pulled from a mustang site: Quote:
For more evidence, check this thread where a fairly modded 4.0 owner is asking what his car will do. They are telling him high 14s or 15. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...mile-dyno.html

Putting a boat anchor under the hood would make that car faster than the 4.0

As for the OP, should be a good race.... and could easily come down to a drivers race, especially if they race heads up! My 2005 V6: Best was 12.8 @ 107 with a Vortech... That was full street trim...

My friend's naturally aspirated untuned 3.0 liter Accord went 12.9 @ 107 mph in negative DA at Atco raceway.
Here's one of his older runs on all seasons with 2.3 60 foot |

I think about 2-3 years from now the FI scene is going to be entirely different. It looks like Gretchens car will be able to pull off low 11s MAYBE high 10s. All it takes is one person to break ground before people follow along. If he runs a low 11/high 10, thats actually great bang for your buck considering he said its cost him like 15-20gs. You could scoop up a low mileage, used V6 for like ~$20k + even $20k, that's $40k for a high 10 second car. Thats pretty much the cost of a new loaded SS. /rant All I'm saying is its too early to make strong judgements on what our V6s can do with FI. If in another 2-3 years FI is still stuck in 13s, then we can throw in the towel lol |

Hey John! You know I thought of you when someone mentioned throwing a SC on the 4.0. lol. I thought...they can be pretty quick! That said...I have to disagree a bit with you. I think an IPF tuned SC'd V6 will run into the 12s, and with tires will do it all day long. With DRs out back I'd feel very comfortable calling a 12.5 - 12.7 1/4 mile. With more mods like headers and skinnies up front I'd call even lower than that. Its the tune, and IPF has got it down. The Trifecta forced induction tuned cars are not NEARLY as consistent. Not even close. Look at what happened during C5fest last year. I hate to sound like a hater but at this point, Trifecta has not proven to me they can affectively tune the LLT for a forced induction car. Now the LFX may be a different story b/c it is "easier' to tune. Quote:
