Watch this! NOW! Top Gear Vauxhall

Before they rip it off YouTube again...

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=3

This is the Pontiac G8 GXP (for all intense and purposes) and its just plain awesome... Its got the 414hp LS2 instead of the 362hp L76 so its not the GT. THIS is the G8 I want.

Thanks, LSx.

I'm really liking Zeta. REALLY liking Zeta!
It squeals for quite a time in the straight. Doesn't stop squealing in the corners, and, AND: It out-manuvered all those cars - forgeting the power.

I'm really liking Zeta!

No replacement for displacement! Its things like that that make me love american muscle. It outperformed all those cars at half the price. oh sure it may not have have a top end interior or as many gadgets, but I don't care about that stuff! Plant my ass in the seat when going straight, try and throw me out the door in the corners, and roar when I stomp on the gas! And the top Camaro should be a bit lighter and a bit more powerful. I see the Camaro as a leaner and meaner G8/VXR8/what ever else its called. Honestly, that video made my day.

Whoa thanks for posting that.

Though I probably would not ever (maneuver, abuse) a new car (which i make payments on), I am becoming more interested in getting the Pontiac.
That video is unreal.

It is sounding more and more that any Zeta platform car is going to be a winner.

Just found another good article on the possibility of a Pontiac G8 GXP...

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...7gm_pontiac_g8

"G8 GXP-LS3/LSA?
While there have obviously been no official on-the-record comments regarding the possibility of a 2009 G8 GXP, I don't think anyone doubts the likelihood. Sources inside both GM North America and GM Holden Australia confirm that an uplevel HSV Spec GXP is on the horizon for the second model year of the G8 (as has been the trend with Pontiac in the past, with the introduction of the Solstice, G6, and Torrent). Sources say the powerplant is still up in the air, though it's possible it will be the 6.2L 425-plus horsepower LS3, or, less likely, the 500-plus horsepower supercharged LSA slated to find its way into the new CTS-V. This would make the G8 GXP the ultimate Bimmer fighter, as it could probably take on the M5 in a head-to-head for roughly half the cost."

The Vauxhall is running on the zeta platform, but it's also a sedan, with less Aerodynamics and more weight.

I'd expect to see the Camaro come around with slightly more power (in upper trim) and a lower weight... not to mention more aggressive gearing (possibly).

A sedan, no matter how sports inspired, is still a sedan. Coupes always tend to be slightly more aggressive, and that's how I like my cars

Edit: Which, in closing, means that the Camaro will not only outperform all of those cars for less, it will outperform them MORE, for less.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the LS3 in the GXP G8. I'd definitely be surprised to see the LSA, LS8, or any of the other supercharged plants, but hey, I wouldn't complain.
