To be fair, It’s actually 10 L which is 10.57 quarts to the top line of the dipstick in my experience but I like overfilling a little bit

Put 10 quarts in and drive around a little. Then park it for about 10 minutes. Then check the dip stick. If you’re anywhere in the full range, which you should be, do not add a drop of oil.

NEVER over fill ANY engine. Whether it’s an LT1 or a 3800 or a 1908 Model T or your Briggs and Stratton lawn mower engine. If anything it’s better to be slightly UNDERfilled than over.

Reason being is, anything above the full mark has the potential for frothing. That’s when the oil level can touch the crank shaft and get whipped up like an omelette. Then your oil pump is sucking in whipped oil with air instead of a solid stream of oil. This can create a low oil pressure situation and risk oil starvation to any part of the engine.

No bueno.

This exactly. 10 quarts is capacity, no extra is needed.

Also, get 11 quarts as I have found that 10 quarts doesn't always get the oil level where it should be. Can take .5 or so extra.
I seem to have same experience as spaceme1117 , takes 10.5 to top full line.

Not reading the dipstick correctly.

It is actually supposed to read around center of the mark on dipstick, not top, not bottom, center. 10, no more.

Exactly 10 quarts fills mine right exactly up to the top full line every time. Right on the line.

Agreed. I've owned the car almost 8 years now and after multiple oil changes the dipstick is at the top reading every time with 10 quarts. And it stays there until the next oil change.
