Solo high flow cats, are they worth it?
I see the high flow cats are pretty expensive, more than my exhaust!
Are they worth the money and do you get the best bang for your buck with these?

I have had them for about 13,000 miles now. I don't have any dyno time or track time to give before and after numbers. I would guess they only help slightly. They did make the exhaust a little deeper.
I was CEL-free for the first 10,000 or so, but I am getting one to pop frequently now (cat-inefficiency). I'm guessing from carbon build-up. It seems like every 2 or 3 days I get a code now. If it keeps this up, I think I will just get some OBX LTs.

The anecdotal Butt-Dyno says yes.
I've had my Solos on for 4K miles and no codes yet, but I do get deCel burbles when I downshift (LS3 - 6M) I did keep the OEs just in case I need/want to switch back, though. |

Personally if you want the extra power I would go with the BBK LT's they come with the high flow cats or OBX LT's much cheaper and you delete the cats. Of course this really depends on your emmission laws. In FL no testing. I don't know if you will get much in gains with just high flow cats and stock manifold. Of course I could be wrong. I am catless.

What he said about the BBK's. I have the Solo exhaust with the BBK's and I like it. Butt dyno says there was an increase, but not as much as what some claim. I just dont think most can tell a 5-10% increase in power. I would have picked up the Solo cats, but they were just too expensive.

Oh wasn't in your sig. Well then it may be good, but can't answer as to whether it is worth the money. Sorry

The Solo cats really seem to work well with shorty headers. If you have these awesome flowing headers and then these factory cats clogging everything up after that..... They make sense with that combo. If its the price holding you up you need to see us for a Camaro5 discount. Makes things a little more affordable.

Anybody experience codes with Solo cats and DT shorties? I'm thinking of adding an X-pipe, too.
