Thumbs down My Camaro falls victim to careless driver...

Happened yesterday in a parking lot. I was inside and did not see it. At least the driver stayed there while someone came inside to find me. I'm totally bummed about it.

We both had the same insurance company and they are taking care of everything. I am still worried about the repair. It is in a bad spot. Go Tuesday to drop it off. Wish me luck! :(

Looks like it would be a repair on the bumper cover and a replacement on the quarter panel , it got caught in a bad spot to try and repair, with the gills and all being right there. I am also sorry to hear this, but at least they did the right thing and stuck around for you.

It definitely doesn't need to be replaced (and you definitely don't want them to replace it), but you'll need a good body shop to repair it. I got hit on the same spot on the passenger side and it took a bit of time, but in the end the gills look perfect.

Sucks, but it could be much worse. Just make sure wherever you take it knows you're not going to accept the work until its perfect!

To me and my shop using mud on a job like this would not leave it perfect.
I would have it replaced , if they are a good shop it would be no big deal to replace it. I would never settle for having bondo or mud or puddy or whatever its called in youre neck of the woods a good repair, not on a car this new.

I'm not sure what would be best. Replacing the quarter may be the only way to go. The crease goes through the gills, the body line on the fender and on the wheel well. The car only has 1500 miles. Makes me sick just thinking about it. :(

I agree, to get the gills right would take many hours of body work, it would make a better repair to section in the gill area from a new quarter, dont replace the whole quarter. that would require getting into the "C" piller and R&R of rear glass. Blending on trunk lid. a good body welder can section that piece in and make it look like new!

got some photos of where it all went down. Can see the paint still on the pole that stabbed the rear bumper. I got lucky as you can see a few more feet to the right and I would have hit those bolders
