and a brush. don't use a pressure washer unless you have an extremely dirty engine bay. mcguires foaming tire shine on everything after the green and hose will make it look new again.

On a 5th Gen Camaro, why do you believe you can't you use a pressure washer? All the electrical connectors are water tight.

Too much pressure, don't want to blow any hoses off or inject water where is doesn't belong.
Its not filthy enough to require a brush. Thanks for the advice..

I power wash my engine bay all the time. Never had a single problem. I work in a very dirty, dusty environment, and even when parked the dirt/dust finds its way under the hood. I clean my Cold Air Inductions filter 3-5 times a year.

Yup, what My 5th just stated. I do the same on just about any vehicle using the OBD II. Damn near everything is water tight under the hood. You won't blow off hoses or damage electronics. Makes the job so much easier!

Simple Green is a good cleaner but it can speed up the corrosion process on bare aluminums. I like using Purple Power. This product can be diluted depending on how dirty your engine bay.

Dont ever ever use that on paint, glass, etc. Will etch badly!

If it makes you feel better then go ahead and cover it. I don't. However, I don't deliberately spray from my high pressure wand directly at the alternator either. The garden hose shouldn't have enough pressure to cause any harm. I do scrub it with an All Purpose Cleaner and brush if dirty.
Modern electronics are water tight.
